There are two different types of files that you can download from FireShare: DXF files and G-codes.
DXF files only contain CAD data and do not contain and CAM data. The intent with DXF files is that you download the design, import it into Fusion 360 (or SheetCAM), then can input your own CAM information to post process a G-code. It does not matter which CNC machine you have when you download a DXF file, since you will post process yourself.
G-code files are coded sets of instructions used by CNC machines to cut out a specific thing. G-code files have all of the CAD, CAM, and post processing work complete. Because of this, which CNC machine you have is important since the G-code is already post processed for a specific machine. The most important factor is whether or not the G-code includes Z-axis and THC commands.
Please refer to the attached images and notice the area we have circled in green, this is how you will determine whether or not the G-codes uploaded to FireShare are compatible with your CNC machine.
